Novos Results
Well done to all the lads that took part at Novos last Sunday.
I couldn't be prouder of the lads at the way they conducted themselves and manned up to get some great results against a massive Novos Team, packed full of bulk, power and pace. Park had been there 2 weeks before and I was told by their Lead Coach that they'd had a very bad day at the office due mainly the shear size and power of Novos forwards. A hard test lay ahead for our lads. We agreed with their coach before the game that we'd play:
B Team Rockcliff v Mixed Team Novos [1st half 15 mins] - 3 nil Novos
A Team Rock v A Team Novos [1st half 15 mins] - 1 nil Novos
B Team Rockcliff v Mixed Team Novos [2nd Half 15 mins] - 1 nil Rockcliff
A Team Rockcliff v A Team Novos [2nd Half 20 min's] - 3 nil Rockcliff.
Tries were scored by Josh 2, Will Robinson [1st ever] 1 and Jethro "The panther" Simmons 1.
The first game our lads never got going against a team to be fair containing alot of 1st Teamers, so our lads were always going to be up against it.
The 2nd game, was pretty much 50/50 with Novos stealing a lead from an interception.
The 3rd game, our B Team boys stepped up and got a great win with a full length of the pitch run from Jethro.
The last game [2nd half A Team Game] was hard battled, but Rockcliff's forwards dominated Novos totally at breakdown, scrum and lineout. These lads formed the platform from which Rockcliff unleashed their backs and this quickly turned the game with Rockcliff pulling 3 ahead without reply. The last min I'd like to forget with it all getting a bit nasty and our 9 nearly getting laid out, but well done to our lads for controlling themselves.
