On Sunday the "Rockcliff Red and Gold Army" went to Haydon Bridge to play against West Tyne and Blyth.
With both the U7s and U8s going it was a sea of Red and Gold. With each Rockcliff squad having 2 teams plus coaches, parents and supporters there must have been at least 70 of us. A brilliant turnout for an away match. Unfortunately both Blyth and West Tyne could only muster one team apiece with both their U7s and U8s. It must have been a bit daunting seeing us all.
With Craig and Alex taking a team each the under 7s played both Blyth and West Tyne plus a derby game to round the morning off.
In one of our games we held onto possesion, avoiding being tagged for what seemed an eternity and then eventually scored. Our supporters were willing the try to happen. There were some good points in all our games, but we need to learn to pass the ball to our nearest player and not just throw it as far down the pitch as possible!!!! If you watch the video, you will see how much ground we lose when we do this. Parents and supporters,if you could encourage the children to watch the video, we would like them to tell us next Sunday what they think we need to get better at.
All said we all had a great morning out at our hosts, West Tyne.
And as ever thank you to Craig, Alex, players, parents and supporters for the great effort to get to Haydon Bridge.
