A mixed squad of firsts, second and veterans took on a well drilled Darlington side from Counties 1 Durham and Northumberland. Matty Brister scored Rockcliff's only try, and club captain Niall Stokes earned the man of the match plaudits. Despite going down 41-5, this was a good run out for the squad in advance of next week's friendly at home to Washington and league action commencing in a few weeks time.
After the game, Rockcliff History Society inducted two more members to it's Hall of Fame: Colonel Joseph Brunton MC and bar, DSO, and Nicolas Pueta and also unveiled a framed tribute to another club legend and Hall of Famer, John Henry "Harry" Greenwell.
